Rachel Harrison::Bio
Born and raised on the West Coast, I presently live happily in what I consider to be Canada’s best city, Vancouver. I have had the wonderful experience of seeing the good, bad, the ugly … and the utterly fabulous…when it comes to Vancouver’s fashion scene.
My romance with fashion began at 18 when I hastily moved to Montreal after high school to fulfill my creative desires as a designer; unfortunately, school fell by the wayside as I experienced freedom, working like a slave and the amazing nightclub scene of Montreal. Young, confused and broke I moved back to Vancouver with my tail between my legs, only to take another swing at school in fashion.
The Blanche MacDonald Centre is where my chosen field of study grew a life of it’s own; it was here that I met some amazing people who have influenced my direction and vision with fashion: Jenn, my closest friend on the planet, who works with Judy Inc here in Vancouver, and Amy Lu, the most talented stylist I know. Amy took me under her wing – during too many photo shoots to count – and to this day we still work together when the opportunity arises.
My style in three words: yuppie meets hippy.
Trend I love: leather-riding boots.
Fashion weakness: shoes and handbags, of course!
