This year, Starlight celebrates 20 years of tirelessly helping seriously ill children and their families cope with the pain, fear and isolation of prolonged illness.  They do amazing work in support of Canada’s most vulnerable kids.

 Starlight softens the hard edges of what a family experiences when a child has a serious illness. They create a sense of community between families who are having similar experiences by providing opportunities for them to escape the hospital, doctors, nurses, needles and treatments and do something fun where they get to join others and just feel “normal” again – perhaps even forgetting that anyone is sick for a short while.  To learn more, visit www.starlightcanada.org

 For 15 years the foundation has hosted an incredibly successful (and profitable) gala that has helped fund the delivery of much-needed and appreciated distraction to children from their pain. This year, we’ve been asked to help introduce the event to an entirely new generation of supporters, such as yourself.  To that end we’re excited to introduce The Starlight Club.

On February 20, 2010, Toronto’s new Allstream Centre will be transformed to take guests back in time to an era of the legendary supper clubs of the golden age of Hollywood. With top DJs, showgirls, a not-to-be-missed live performance guaranteed to get everyone grooving, complimentary cocktails and fine food. 

The party will unfold in two phases:
At 6PM The Starlight Supper Club officially opens for cocktails, a 3-course dinner and entertainment (tickets are $350 or $3,500 for a table of ten). 
At 9PM additional guests will arrive in time to kick-off The Premiere Party which includes complimentary cocktails, appetizers and entertainment (tickets are $100).
Regardless of what time guests join the party, some of the evening’s highlights will also include: go head-to-head with Toronto FC star Danny Dichio at Wii soccer.  Get glammed-up in true Hollywood style.  Survey unique works of art created by young artists inspired by the Starlight children. WIN! a new car generously donated by Infiniti.  Bid big on the luxurious Live & Silent Auctions featuring exclusive golf memberships, sports memorabilia, tickets, full suite of Samsung home technology and appliances, and so much more.

Corporate sponsors this year include: Toy’s ‘R Us, Virgin Mobile and Samsung, Cineplex, FabulousSavings.com, Nintendo, TD, Playtex, and more. 

Later this week, we’re going live with the website and a Facebook campaign to start to generate ticket sales.

Any assistance you can offer to help spread the word is much appreciated.  We’re asking everyone to update their profile picture to reflect The Starlight Club logo (attached but please refrain from posting till further notice) later this week as well as to extend the invitation to the event page to all of their contacts to help generate awareness of the event and ticket sales.
