Deacon’s Corner

Working away last week, I was distracted by what sounded to me, and my innocent ears, like an Herbal Essences commercial. It turned out it was just my co-worker thoroughly enjoying her morning meal. The cause of this commotion was, surprisingly, a sandwich courtesy of a new café in Gastown, Deacon’s Corner. Curiosity peaked and expectations high, I headed in to check out the aforementioned meal. Prompt, jovial service, perfectly spiced hashbrowns and delicious coffee aside, the main attraction was undoubtedly the sandwich. Combining of all things crucial to an egg sandwich, cheese, bacon and tomato, the grilled bread is what sets this sandwich apart from the rest of the breakfast world. Available all day and coming in at only $6.25, I have a feeling that this is going to become a regular indulgence. Located on the corner of Main and Alexander Street, the menu has plenty more to offer, so check it out for yourself!
